Branding aside  there is very little difference between the "BOGE " universal joint and the "standard" or "basic" universal joint. You may still hear different opinions around the windsurfing market place about which one is more durable and many use the term "Boge joint" as a generic name for all types of UJ's. .

We have used both and found them to be   almost entirely equal in terms of sailing sensation, power transmission and longevity and identical in all respects.
