Good news from Tenerife this week as the OTC is scheduled to re-open on the 21st of January. The team was closed down by the police recently due to some council paperwork difficulties, but after some extra boxes were ticked and some media attention raised the boys have done the trick and all problems appear to have been sorted. The OTC is the worlds first multi equipment test centre (hence Official Test Centre) where you can try a large proportion of all the different product from multiple brands. It’s a fantastic place to try before you buy, with only the best equipment available.

A quick beer in Flashpoint as a reopening party on the 17th went well and they are all looking forward to getting back on the water with all the 2009 test kit.

OTC’s official statement; “We have been keen to keep you all up to date with progress via this news page, but the truth is that there has been little of substance to report other than more speculation and rumour. That is until this week! Last Saturday the Canarian newspaper Diario de Avisos printed an article about the plight of the various locals in South Bay, which prompted one of the Ayuntamiento’s (local council’s) top representatives Estaban González to visit the area and understand the situation for himself. This was followed by a meeting on Wednesday with the head of the General Council for Transports, Works and Services, who informed us that all The OTC’s papers are in order and that we could reopen.”
