// Storm - High Wind Freeride / CrossoverTushingham were the first to recognise that not all high-wind sailors need a wave sail. In fact, most high wind sailing takes place on chop where balanced handling and control are paramount. The Storm F10 sets the benchmark for high-wind freeride, blending power, speed and control for exciting and effortless high-wind sailing.
With a slightly longer boom and deeper profile than a wave sail, the Storm locks the board to the water in choppy conditions, delivering crisp, usable low-end power and a top-end that will never leave you wanting.
The Storm is adaptable to different boards, riders and conditions: driven hard in “blasting” mode or sailed with an upright “manoeuvre” oriented stance, it’s comfortable however you like to ride!
Wherever it hits the water, the Storm F10 is guaranteed to deliver:
Although the sail will set on any compatible mast, Tushingham recommend the Carbon 75 mast for superb freeride performance with the strength to handle coastal sailing.
The RD 60 and RD Wave are also very appropriate masts, super-tough and favouring manoeuvre-oriented sailing.
“This sail was a big hit with both testers and guesters as a freeride option. It will work well with freeride boards across a very wide wind range.” – Boards Magazine
“Sailing the Storm over choppy water is where the rider really appreciates the forgiving nature. It's a real hit on my courses and at the holiday centres I visit.” – Peter Hart
“A very well built sail with superb handling, user-friendliness and a massive natural range, its real forte lies in freeride and carving manoeuvres.” –
To maximise the performance of a modern freeride sail like the Storm, a little attention to how you set the sail will be necessary. However much conditions are firing, an extra few seconds spent checking the settings can be the difference between a good and a bad session on the water.
All you need to know can be found in the rigging instructions supplied with the sail.
Tushingham have filmed a quick video to assist you in rigging the Storm. It's just in the final stages of editing and will be posted EARLY FEBRUARY.
