Designed by UK designers in the UK for UK conditions to provide warmth, suppleness and durability.
Use of new neoprenes in core (chest and back ) area of the suit gives more support so that the suit does not "slough" i.e. lose contact with the skin with water entry from a sailing session. Although this material is thicker and slightly stiffer than conventional super stretchy neoprenes used in most suits today, being only used in "core" areas means that there is no loss of performance or comfort but a significant gain in warmth.
Coventional super stretchy material is used where required - eg. panels underneath the arm for movement so there is no loss of flexibility.
New Design Neck: The cut at the back of the neck is higher and sealed at the side so that when you push your chin down i.e waterstarting, the back of the neck does not "gape open " letting loads of water in.Front of neck on XTR is deep set for comfort and fit .
Wrist cuffs are cut obliquely so that they extend up the back of the hand - again cutting down water entry.
Back zip is fitted with C seal to prevent water entry.
Glued and blindstiched with all internal vertical seams taped for durability.

Common features found in suits
All suits in the Spartan 2009 range use only Super Stretch smooth skin and mesh neoprene, the suits have internal, critically thermal taped seams, which was first introduced by Spartan in 1980. All other competitors still have not superseded this. This technology stops any possibility of water entering through the seams and enhances durability.
Panels are selected according to the body's needs, and as a consequence super flexible neoprene is used around the shoulders for greater arm movement. The material thickness used on all the winter suits is 5 mm on the body panels and 3mm on the arms. Inside the suits you will see XT (extreme thermal) linings used throughout the range that offer added warmth.
The superior design, engineered panel layout and material selection reduce the possibility of water inside the suit that rapidly reduces the core temperature of the body. Spartan ensures that you are kept warm and protected from the elements allowing you to enjoy the winter conditions in safety.
Spartan was initially established in 1958 and continues to prosper against the giants of the mass production wetsuit companies by delivering a quality product that proves to be value for money.
