Shinn Kiteboarding's deep section EVA cushioning ensures luxurious comfort even during the harshest landings, whilst a carefully placed section of memory foam adjusts the surface to the shape of your feet after only a couple of hours riding. Multi-position fixation points allow you to fine tune your stance to perfection. The Shinn footstrap has been shaped to provide maximum grip on your foot with minimal pressure points and complete ease of adjustability.
Fins:
All Shinn twin tips are supplied with high visibility G10 fins and deck protection plates. Shaped exclusively for us from G10 Epoxy (for unsurpassed durability), this 57mm shape provides exceptional grip for it's size whilst still offering great manoeuvrability.
Size
Contrary to popular opinion it's not the length of your board that's the most important when choosing a size but the width. Increasing the width by only 1cm can add as much as 10% to the surface area of the board. The Monk is available in 6 widths ensuring that no matter your weight, the conditions you ride in or your preferred style there's a perfect size ride for you in the range.

Core
Every board starts with a CORE and the material used will determine both the long and short terms flex characteristics of the ride, it"s durability and of course it's weight. After countless prototypes and tests one material has proven to be far superior to any other in all aspects and that one material is nature's finest….. wood. Using a full wood core means our boards maintain their prescribed flex patterns year after year and are not prone to sudden catastrophic failure as many other materials are.

Fins
The Monk is supplied with 1st Quality, high pressure/temperature formed G10 fins. Proved many times over to be the best material for both durability and stiffness, anything else is just 2nd best. Hi-visibility red pigment makes finding your board in the water a breeze and the fins are fixed to the board with A4 grade INOX bolts and our bespoke “foxes glacier mint" fin washers. New for 2012 the 132.41 and smaller Monk's will come with 43mm fins whilst the larger boards come with the grippier 53mm version.

Squoval Mould
First featured on the Monk last year, our Squoval mould has become synonymous with comfort and performance. By allowing bi-lateral flex through the tips of the board whilst maintaining the form around the your feet intact we can produce boards that appear to absorb all chop with out slowing you down and without feeling energy-sappingly soft. When combined with our Constant curve rocker line and Progressive concave we offer the board that independent testers described as being “good at everything, all of the time"

CC Rocker
Conventional rockers have multiple radiuses however our new design maintains a constant curve from tip to tail. As power increases and you load the rail you naturally transfer more weight to your back foot, the cc rocker contact with the water remains constant (unlike multiple radius versions) no matter how your balance is distributed between your feet, meaning no trim adjustment and no increase in leg pressure is needed – constant grip and constant power in all conditions. Massively increasing the lift in the extremes of the board has the added bonus of eliminating tip strike when riding in chop and that means no spray in the riders eyes– ever.
