All-round performance and durability

Is an all-round wave sail. It performs equally in all conditions – from huge, white water onshore to perfect cross-offshore winds and peeling waves. It combines versatility with performance. Combat is built extra tough for aggressive, hardriding wave sailors who are looking for durability.

Main Points
• Designed for aggressive, hard riding wave sailors.
• Super strong construction and durability.
• Equal performance in both side shore and onshore conditions.
• Maximum efficiency for both wave riding and jumping.

What's New
A little more draft in the bottom of the sail allows the sail to be more versatile, giving power when needed and allowing the sail to be used with a lower outhaul setting. Increased yarn thickness in the window panel creates greater rip resistance.

The 2012 Combat comes in two colours, as seen in the pictures above - Green or Green & Blue.

The Combat 2012 is an allround - durable wave sail, to create this the characteristics of the sail are explained below.

Full Armourweb: Construction for optimum durability.

Moderate luff curve and shaping make the sail extremely versatile.

Low aspect ratio: keeps the power low down where it can be controlled eaasily.

Progressive luff curve: Makes the sail tunable to accommodate its versatility. The sail will always have a reasonable draft in the bottom, under minimal and maximum downhaul settings..

See below for a comparison of characteristics between Neil Prydes wave sails.

The Combat has five main construction features, each explained below.

Armourweb HD Dyneema®
Durable, thick polyester yarns at 90 and 180 degrees, interlaced with the ultra-strong Dyneema® yarns at +/- 40 degrees for optimum tear resistance and durability. Used along the top perimeter of the Wave, X-Over, Kids and SUP sails, preventing damage in critical areas.

Armourweb Dyneema®
Durable, flat polyester yarns at 90 and 180 degrees, interlaced with ultra-strong Dyneema® yarns at +/- 40 degrees for optimum tear resistance and lightweight. Used on all coloured film of the Wave, Race, Kids and X-Over sails.

Twin Seams
Twice the muscle and twice the endurance. Double stitching is now used on all critical seams on all sails allowing them to endure prolonged exposure to high loads and impacts.

Compact Clew
The Compact Clew improves control of the sail in three ways: reduced boom length, a more compact outline with rider-focused surface area and improved sail twist. Available on Wave and X-Over sails.

Clearweb Dyneema
Bi-directional interlaced flat Dyneema® yarns for the perfect balance of tear resistance and visibility. Available on Combat, Fusion HD and Experience. The 2012 Combat comes in 8 sizes, fit for all waves. The specifications are shown in the chart below.
