// fast and free planing
Developed from the high-performance Freeride Eagle line The Shark’s finely CAD-tuned scoop rocker lines deliver performance and comfort. The compact and balanced outline, with wider center and narrower tail shapes supported by CAD Logical Volume Flow, guarantees control and comfort in any conditions. Smooth rails carve through chop like powder for satisfying jibing sensations, and a clean Power-V bottom shape ensures swift water release for outstanding speed and turnability.
Two new models for the 2011 Shark range are 105 and 120 litres.
- Much shorter and wider compact outlines
- Fuller front rails for a forgiving ride and smooth jibing. Thinner rails in the tail for tight turns and grip
- Higher rocker for amplified control
- Increased V for release and carving ability
- Increased double concave for cutting through the chop on max power
- Domed deck for comfort and ultimate footsteering feel
“The Sharks got a lot of attention and pretty intense R&D this time round. We wanted something that would be forgiving to the first-time jiber through to more advanced sailors hell-bent on cranking powerful turns. The most important thing we achieved from the CAD analysis was the easy-to-use aspect from a more compact outline and smoother volume flow.”
The 2011 Sharks come in two constructions:
High Resistance Skin

High resistance composite technology – an optimum weight and durable construction for every-day use. A thick, durable outer skin gives the board hull a high strength, ding and impact resistance. Strategic use of glass reinforcements ensures an adequate stiffness. Used on the standard Shark, as well as on the Viper/Ripper ranges in combination with a user friendly EVA deck. This technology is available on all models.
Biax and Carbon Kevlar/Basalt Sandwich Light Technology

Top quality and high-tech specification Biax Carbon has a perfect weight to stiffness ratio as a result of it´s very fine weave, plus has fantastic dynamic flex. In combination with PVC Sandwich Technology and Glass reinforcements, it provides a perfect stiffness/flex/weight ratio on the Falcon Slalom line. We used the same basic construction for our Freeride Limited Edition boards, except that on the deck we have a full Carbon Kevlar layuo which has a better shock absorbing character than pure carbon, for more comfort, whilst offering a very stiff and light performance, which is needed for these high performance Freeride/FreeRace boards (Shark LTD/Hawk LTD/Ray LTD). On the bases of the LTD boards we have the new innovative Basalt cloth, a cloth which is not only technically superior to many other standard cloths, but also environment friendlier in both the creation and re-cycling thereof. All of these models are produced with the light finish sanded look, for extra weight savings, whilst the new polished and airbrushed rails and bases are the ultimate optic for 2011! This technology is available only on the 135, 150 and 165 litre models.

Each models fin varies depending on which size and model you have. For a detailed description see the specification tab. Allthough, note that the Carbon Kevlar/Basalt Sandwitch Light model comes with a G10 fin, as a pose to a standard GFK fin.
