Starboard 24/48 Demo boards

Excellent idea from Starboard importers. We all know that whenever you get have the time to go to a demo day, the chances of having the right wind and water conditions are virtually zero. It frustrates suppliers and riders alike. Tushingham have come up with the 24/48hr idea, where for a small carriage fee, you can arrange with your local dealer to have the demo board of your choice shipped up so that you can collect the boardand take it with you to demo it over a period of 24 or 48 hrs.
With winter winds coming on its an opportunity not to be missed so if you are interested plaese contact us by email or phone.

The Swat is a 4 batten wave sail with a compact outline.It promotes a light, soft manouevre orientated feel aimed at the lighter rider.

It features a dropped clew for reduced boom lengths, a straight foot for radical wave and freestyle performance and has full X ply construction for durability. First reports so far are very positive ‘very light and very stable’ being the most used phrases.

Fusion drysuit

So cold up here this weekend!! Adam is looking forward to trying out the new Fusion Drysuit which looks the biz for winter winds up here.
The Fusion Drysuit 4/3 is a highly innovative new design concept for a drysuit created by ION. It combines the advantages of conventional snug fit Neoprene drysuits and baggy style Nylon fabric drysuits without the inherent weaknesses of these two concepts.

Since September 2008 there has been a huge fall in the value of Sterling on the international markets. While the Dollar and Euro remain strong the British pound’s value has plummeted on the international markets, to the point at which £100 of equipment bought into the country is now costing £145. Most importers hedge currency, buying currency ahead of time to minimise the volatility fluctuations and this helps keep the importers in business with steady trading conditions, ironing out the bumps and keeping retail prices constant. Most importers will only be able to hedge (or book currency) up to 12 months in advance, and now that they have used this all up since September they now have no choice but to pay the higher price.

Kevin Pritchard takes his production Kode to 3rd place at Cabo Verde

pritchard

It’s no secret that we think a lot of the new Starboard Kode. Starboard have been missing out on the performance crossover market, but this has been thouroughly addressed in ‘09. Mike and John Mc both use this board now and say it’s sensational. The news that Mr Pritchard took a freeride wave board to 3rd place at Sal came as no surprise really.. The time has come where every day freeride wave boards are delivering hardcore performance, yet the same board will also take on your mates at flat water freeride. Well Done Matt!

Here is the full writeup from his interview with Starboard;

‘09 Starboard Kode .. the hallowed two are now the hallowed three

Mike switches to Starboard’s ‘09 Kode for the new season.

Arguably the biggest board company in the world right now, their success is a testament to some industry leading and ground braking designs over the last few years. The Carve boards were a huge success for them,

It’s not always been plain sailing though and there have been a few inconsistencies along the way, but for 2009 we think they have two mainstream board ranges that will do extremely well for them.
