Severne Sails 2013
After the rain comes sun…..! Having survived the flooding and the torrential rain of the last few days, the sun and blue skies have appeared with the news that the Severne sails 2013 have docked and are in the country being processed in customs. We should have them in stock next week sometime.
For those of you who have pre ordered them with us, we will let you know as soon as they arrive and for those of you who haven’t yet seen them, its well worth a visit to see the quality and design features of these sails – you can check out the Blade

Opening hours update: Weekend 8/9th September
Due to staffing holidays and the National Windsurfing Festival being held over this weekend, the shop and lake will be closed this weekend. Normal service the following week! We will be open late until 7.30pm on Tuesday 11th August, to try and catch up.
Airush Aramid Wave kites
Airush have released the 2013 Razor and Wave Team kites with the new Aramid Load Frame Construction
Airush comment – This represents quite a fundamental change on design philosophy on kites. Currently Kites rely on the canopy 100% to maintain the structural integrity. So canopy cloth operates under very high tension but are lightweight to ensure the kites fly properly. We set out to transfer some of the load off the canopy, and into the Aramid load frame when the kite is under high stress. We used Aramid and polyester tape as the Aramid is strong but still very damage tolerant and can deal with the impact. Another advantage of the frame is it limits further damage to the canopy in case of a tear or hole. So technically you could shoot holes in the canopy and the kite will still fly. So its not completely bulletproof, but we are working towards that. These characteristics made it ideal for application in both the Wave Kite and Razor Team.
We look forward to trying them – especially the new 100% Wave design. They should be available fairly soon.
