There’s a good reason why the switch has been our best-selling twintip board year after year. More versatile and comfort-oriented than any other twintip we make, the switch can be enjoyed by all riders — from beginner to advanced. Better yet, the 2017 model offers reduced weight for a more precise feel, a new 3d deck for optimized flex, and a wider outline for enhanced upwind performance.

The 2017 model is fitted with our freeride specific aft, featuring easy adjustability and allowing for easy entry and exit of the straps during freeride manoeuvres.

Multizone biotech core

The airush multizone biotech construction is a vertical paulownia wood core sandwich. This multilayer construction creates a consistent density from the natural material. Our wood cores are renowned for their response, durability and smoothness, and are combined with a versatile combination of laminates depending on each model’s requirement, for all-round performance and durability.

Carbon torsion control

Airush carbon torsion control creates a unique performance advantage developed specifically for performance freeride boards. Traditionally higher flex boards, which are ideal for freeride, have significant torsional flex. Carbon torsion control features bias oriented carbon fiber along the heel edge which reduces the amount of torsional flex in this area and allows you to ride the board flatter for increased comfort and speed.

Flex tips

The switch is designed with progressive independent flex tips and a more progressive continuous rocker line. These flex tips allow for a responsive and smooth ride in choppier and high swell conditions.

4 fms rating

Airush introduced fms rating 6 years ago as the first brand to quantify how much a twintip flexes. Instead of the good old “feel” test, which can be very deceptive due to the impact of the length on the overall stiffness, fms takes into account the board’s length and deflection. A lower rating indicates a softer board more suited to freeride, while higher rated stiffer boards are more suited to freestyle.

Abs reinforced inserts

No more pulled or broken inserts from hard landings or crashes. Featured on all airush boards, the abs reinforced inserts create the ultimate amount of durability whether riding with boots or straps.


The 2017 core aft is your simple classic foot-strap system. With its easy to use velcro closure that can be adjusted with one hand, the core aft allows for easy on-the-fly adjustment to compliment your riding style. The core aft features our dual density footbed which is moulded with a soft layer that contours to your individual foot-shape, while the denser secondary layer absorbs the impact from monster landings. The 3d molded footbed contours to the riders foot allowing for a high level of comfort while the directional grooving keeps the riders foot firmly in position. To meet the demands of simple functionality, it fits a full range of foot sizes and is built with an ultra-light durable pe baseplate.

Dual density, molded footbed

the dual density footbed creates a soft primary layer that contours to your individual foot shape, while the denser secondary layer absorbs the impact from monster landings. The 3d molded foot bed contours to the rider’s foot allowing for its high level of comfort. The foot-bed is designed with directional grooving to keep the rider’s foot firmly positioned during riding.

Lightweight baseplate

developed specifically to meet the demands of simple functionality, it fits a full range of foot sizes and is built with an ultra-light baseplate.
